If an item was damaged during shipment, can I still get a refund?
I ordered a pc game that was stated to be brand new and factory sealed. It is new, however, the box is significantly bent up. I double checked the page that I ordered from, and nowhere does it mention that the item was a damaged good. So if this damage did occur while being shipped to me, can I still return the game and get a refund from the seller? Here is the link to the item: Link I hope I didn't miss anything on the page.|||> You will get a full refund of your purchase price and original shipping charge if you file a Significantly Not As Described dispute with eBay, but eBay may require you to return the item on your own nickel... In view of the above notice from the seller's TOS, I would recommend that you use the provided link to contact the seller directly first. They may be willing to just ship another game without any requirement to return the original, or they may provide you a pre-paid shipping label for return. Was the shipping box itself bashed up, or just the game inside the shipping box?|||The first thing you should do is talk to the seller to see if they had insurance. If not, they may offer you an exchange OR, you may have to file a SNAD claim.Need a website fast?|||The game box itself was all bent in. It was sent in an envelop.|||I normally throw game boxes away. Was this for re-sale or excactly what's the issue......|||The box was damaged but how about the game?|||OK, first: is the game affected? Do you really mind the box is bent, as long as the game works? If you do mind and would like this problem fixed, here is what to do: 1) contact the seller and let them know your concerns 2) See what they say - is that a solution you are happy with? Chances are they will respond and say to send it back for a refund or exchange. This is a fair solution. 3) If the seller doesn't respond or won't cooperate, you can file a S.N.A.D claim with Paypal and they will tell you to send it back for a refund (minus shipping). You will have to provide a delivery confirmation number for proof of return. I say that if the game still works, you should just keep it and carry on because trying to return it will lose you some money via shipping cost. It sounds like it was damaged during shipping, not the seller's fault (except an envelope is a bit of a lousy shipping choice). I wouldn't leave bad feedback either --- unless of course you try contacting them with no luck.(my posting ID)|||14 day exchange, buyer pays return shipping Is it worth paying the shipping back?Is this a collectible that has more value because it is in package? It may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"
